Terrafirma Heavy Load Rear Springs
This could possibly be the biggest development in Terrafirma’s suspension range in 10 years, as they constantly strive to provide the best quality, value and performing accessories for Land Rovers in the market place. Terrafirma’s new range of +2″ springs provide superior ride control, longer service life, longer lasting paint finish and improved performance when combined with Terrafirma’s range of shocks.
Their new springs are produced by a hi-tech, ISO approved Australian manufacturer from the highest quality steel. The springs are made to a strictly controlled design and tested to exact tolerances that guarantees consistent sag free performance. High quality coil spring manufacturing requires stringent key procedures to be followed and every single Terrafirma spring (not just the batch) has been through these processes:
Precise Heat Treating & Hot Forming
Precise heating of the correct length and diameter superior quality steel rods, formed on CNC mandrels
Oil Quenching
Quenched to control the correct hardness and strength
Furnace Tempering
Heat treated to eliminate hot sports and brittleness and improve the elasticity which could cause failure in lesser springs
Shot Peening
Shot peening with hardened steel shot relieved the surface of the steel making it more durable and less susceptible to fatigue. It also allows a far better surface as a key for the powder coating.
Scragging
Compressing the spring to the coil bound state to ensure it returns to its specified free length and to prevent sagging and height loss.
Load & Height Testing
All Springs are 100% load tested to ensure the spring conforms to the correct height with the specified load for that application.
Powder Coating
Terrafirma’s coil springs are powder coated in a durable and protective quality grey finish.

Thse heavy load rear springs will give a 2″ lift on heavily laden Defender 110 and 130 models used for commercial and expedition use. These are best suited on vehicles carrying a constant load and additional equipment weighing more than 500kg. The TF019 is suitable for most applications but these heavy load springs are particularly good for those who want a more constant heavy load carrying capacity. Do not fit these springs if you are not carrying the load, as the lift may be too great and over extend the rear shocks.
