Converting the tailgate of your soft top or pick-up Defender into a side hinged half door really allows you to make the most of the space. Without the drop-down tailgate in the way you can reach further into the back of the vehicle, making it easier to load and unload.

This kit contains everything you need to replace the normal tailgate for a side hinged door with lift up handle, as you’d have with a station wagon rear door. You can even fit a swing away spare wheel carrier to make even better use of the load space. You’ll receive the half door, latch with 2 keys, hinges and all fixings, all you need to do is paint it to match the vehicle and fit the hinges and lock catch.
