Vehicle updated on 22 November 2010	2009 MOUNTAIN TRUST CHARITY AMBULANCE CONVERSION We were contacted by Land Rover Monthly about a possibilty of converting a standard 1987 110 station wagon into a fully fledged ambulance. This project was the brain child of Andrew Ahmad-Cooke - to ship out a vehicle which could visit the villages in and around the Pokhara Valley in Nepal and cope with the mountainous terain, fording deep rivers etc. It was in part prompted by the story of a woman in her thities who had no one to help her and suffered from a 6 inch long tumour in her spine which was preventing her from using her legs. She literally dragged herself by her arms to Manipal Hospital from a remote village - with no means to pay for care. Surgeons contacted the Mountain Trust and agreed to pay the £200 to cover drugs and bandages etc. necessary for the operation and medical staff gave their work for free. The following day in post-op she could for the first time in years move one of her legs. She has since made a full recovery. We replaced many mechanical components without spoiling the well used tatty look so that Hugh could travel around reliably and in relative comfort. James @ Property Book Uk asked us to mirror image their existing Landrover, 2 access doors, 1 tonne payload, so we set about the task using a 110 rear section chassis with a custom A frame built by Lee Todd of LWT Fabrication, separate indespension units allowing use of defender wheels, this was shotblasted and galvanized, we used a utility 110 body fabricating a custom front end with front door. Created to mimic a forest environment, the enclosure features large glass viewing windows to take in the full scope of the landscape, as well as two indoor windows allowing viewing of the indoor accommodation. Vehicle updated on 26 November 2011	SVX DEFENDER 60TH ANNIVERSARY V DEFENDER 90 RST Defender 90 SVX 60th Anniversary 2008 saw Land Rovers 60th anniversary, for which a new series of special edition Defenders were produced. Branded the SVX, three models were built. All were painted black with satin effect body graphics on the vehicles sides and bonnet carrying the 60th logo used throughout 2008 at various special events and on anniversary merchandise. Bespoke 5-spoke alloy wheels were used and a new silver-coloured front grille design was used. This also incorporated a new design of headlamp with the sidelight lamp being integral with the main headlamp unit, allowing the space previously used for the separate sidelight to be used to fit a pair of high-intensity driving lamps. Inside the SVX models gained Recaro bucket seats in the front row, alloy gearlever knobs and a Garmin GPS navigation system. The drivetrain was the standard 2.4 litre diesel and 6-speed manual permanent 4-wheel-drive transmission. The SVX edition was available as a 110 Station Wagon (only available outside the UK), a 90 Station Wagon and a brand-new design of 90 Soft Top- the first time a Soft Top model had been available through showrooms in the UK since 1992. SVX Soft Tops had only the two front seats- the rear load bay being used to accommodate the spare wheel and a lockable storage box. A new design of hood was used, sloping down towards the rear over a jointed folding frame, unlike the standard square-framed hood used on other Soft Top Land Rovers.
